The Dubai Land Department project registry lists 3 827 projects holding 963 032 units in total, of which 531 371 sit in 2 181 projects still recorded as under construction. Unit counts are the figures registered with DLD at project registration, so they describe what was approved, not what has been handed over.

What these numbers do not show
- Delivered homes. The registry counts units approved in projects, not keys handed over.
- Whether a project is moving. Inspections are irregular; an unchanged percentage is not evidence that work stopped.
- Buildings outside the project registry — older stock registered before the current registry existed is not counted here.
